Personal profile：Prof. SOO Khin Wah
Born in Penang, Malaysia, he graduated from the Chinese department of the University of Malaya in 1980.
He received his master’s degree from the University of Malaya in 1987 and his PhD from the University of British Columbia in 1997.
In September 1989, he joined the Chinese Department of the University of Malaya as a lecturer and later became professor and head of the department.
His main research interests include Chinese folk religion, folk customs, collection and research of inscription data and scrolls.
He has published more than 30 academic papers related to folk customs and religious culture, such as “Festivals, Folk Customs and Religion” and “Academic Papers on Celebrating Professor Fu Wukang’s Eighth Rank, Sixth Anniversary”.
