He is a professor in the Department of Philosophy of Anhui University, the former director of the Institute of Taoism of Anhui University, the founder and lifelong honorary president of Huangshan Academy for Culture.
In 1952, he graduated from the Department of Philosophy of Tsinghua University.
In 1958, he graduated from the department of Philosophy of Peking University under the tutelage of Jin Yuelin, Feng Youlan and Zhang Dainian.
