He holds a Bachelor of Arts (first class) from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Nanyang University, a Master of Arts from the Institute of Asian Cultures of Nanyang University, and a doctor of Philosophy from the National University of Singapore.  

He has been a visiting professor in the Department of Philosophy at Xiamen University, China. He has been teaching part-time at the Department of Chinese at The National University of Singapore, the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at the Open University of Singapore, the Department of Chinese at Ngee On College, the Taoist College of Singapore, the Department of Chinese at The Southern College of Malaysia, and the Department of Chinese at Han Jiang College.  

He teaches the “history of Chinese philosophy”,“ Chinese cultural history”,“Han Feizi”, “Confucianism, Taoism and Law thoughts”, “Zuo Zhuan”,  “Selected reading of ancient literature”, and “introduction to ancient books”.  

He is the author of “Compatibility between Law and Confucianism: A Historical Survey of Han Feizi’s Thought”, and the chief editor of “Folk Culture and Religious Belief ”, “Chenghuang Belief ”, and “Sectionalism: Confucianism and Confucianism in Southeast Asia” .
